Full Stack (Sr Web) Developer

The primary focus of this senior position is the innovation of product development through research and development.  Secondary aspects of the role include: minimizing defects, working closely with Product Owners, internal staff training, being a staff resource for difficult issues, security, and coaching.
 
What will you work on? You will be developing in our Delphi interfaced, patient web portal, found within our full-service practice management software, Visual-Eyes.  Secondary aspects include supporting internal infrastructure for our hosted CRM solution and company websites.
 
Key Responsibility Areas
 
Web Development 30-50%
  • Uses an Agile Scrum methodology
  • Receive defects from various sources including internal systems, customer service and training teams.
  • Research ideas to fix defects properly and to determine the source of the problem
  • Fix defects, test and release the final fix
  • Work with team to determine how best to break down required development work
Development & Innovation 25-40%
  • Work with Product Owners/Clients in view of the big picture to determine the best long term strategies for projects and development
  • Assess, analyze and determine how development will impact customers
  • Develop new features, test and make adjustments as required
  • Research
Coaching 5-15%
  • Perform regular code reviews for Junior Developers
  • Training of internal staff
  • Documentation of processes
  • Communicate effectively and efficiently within and outside team
Other 5-10%
  • Provide training on how new developments function/work
  • Support others in investigation of client and software issues
  • Stay current on e-mail communication
  • Complete various other projects and assignments as required
Experience
  • Minimum of 7+ years as a Web Developer
  • Knowledge of our current languages which includes: Linux system administration, PHP, C++, HTML, JavaScript (jQuery), CSS, Joomla, MySQL, MVC framework (cakePHP).
  • Team coaching experience a great asset

Education

  • Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent
