Anne is a graduate of the University of Toronto in the field of Engineering Science. To some degree, she has been with Visual-Eyes since its inception in 1996. As the company grew, so did her involvement. Initially, her responsibilities included bookkeeping and performing the odd programming task here and there. As time passed, her contribution evolved into what it is today.

Anne has become the backbone of the company, overseeing all aspects of essential day-to-day operations and collaborating with her team of talented managers. She is very proud of Visual-Eyes and its ability to make a difference in how a clinic operates.

We asked Anne…

“What do you do in your free time?”
When I am not working or spending time with my kids, I love to get lost in a book or spend time creating my newest quilt.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to?”
I love to travel and love many places for different reasons, but if I had to pick one place, it would be Japan. The culture is so different and interesting, and everyone is very polite.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I love being creative, particularity in sewing. I explore this mostly through various styles of quilts. Most people do not know that I also do couture sewing.

Scott joined Visual-Eyes in March 2026 and brings extensive leadership experience to his role as Operations Manager. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology with minors in Business and Psychology, along with advanced aviation training, including air transport and instructor credentials. Scott has held managerial positions with engineering, real estate, electronics development, and programming firms in California and Central Alberta. His most recent accomplishment is completing Transport Canada flight instructor upgrades, and his favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the great team and supportive owners.

“Where would be your favorite place to live and why?”
Central Alberta for the quality of life and rural living we enjoy.

“What do you do in your free time?”
Family activities, flying, flight instruction.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to and why?”
Thailand, cultural diversity and interesting things to see.

Simone joined the Visual-Eyes team in April 2016, as a member of the Administration department. Prior to joining our team Simone completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Animal Biology from the University of Alberta.

She has become a vital member of the Visual-Eyes family and works hard to ensure that the office runs smoothly. Her coworkers describe her as the person who “puts out fires”. She is always prepared to find a solution to any problem. Previously, she had been working in retail and is happy with the transition to Visual-Eyes, as she enjoys her coworkers and that no two days in the office are ever the same.

We asked Simone…

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
Besides English, I have studied four other languages: French, Spanish, German, and Latin. Granted since I do not use them, I don’t remember much from them now.

“What inspires you?”
Being in nature or anything that utilizes my creativity.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to?”
Bimini, Bahamas. North Bimini is a tiny oval shaped island where you could walk its width in 5 mins and bike ride its length in 15 mins. I loved the color of the sand and water there, and enjoyed swimming in the ocean with wild dolphins.

Before taking on his current role as a bookkeeper at Visual-Eyes, Oliver completed his Bachelor of Science in Accountancy as well as the Credit Skills Certification Program. With prior experience as an Internal Auditor, Oliver continues to bring valuable insights to his position within the company. At Visual-Eyes, Oliver appreciates the balance between focused productivity and a relaxed, joyful work atmosphere.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I watch movies and sports, listen to music, play guitar, play basketball, and browse the internet.

“Where would be your favourite place to live and why?”
My favourite place to live would be off-grid close to a body of water.

“What is your favourite place that you have travelled to and why?”
My favourite places that I have travelled to is El Nido, Palawan, Philippines. It has a gorgeous beach!

Trent joined the Visual-Eyes Accounting team on July 14, 2025. He brings extensive accounting experience and notable achievements to his role. His qualifications include obtaining his CPA designation and completing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in accounting. Throughout his career, working with many kinds of companies, he has also served as a mentor to fellow accountants. Trent enjoys the camaraderie among everyone at Visual-Eyes as well as with our clients.

We asked Trent…

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy reading on quiet mornings or playing board games around a table with close friends.

“What inspires you?”
I am inspired by the creativity and insight of those around me. Seeing them do their best reminds me that there are always ways of improving and making yourself a better person, both at work and in everyday life.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
I always thought that in another life I might have been a programmer or developer. It’s gratifying that I still get to be involved in the industry as an accountant.

Janelle joined the Visual-Eyes Administration team on September 3, 2025, after completing her Business Diploma at Red Deer Polytechnic. Before starting at Visual-Eyes, Janelle gained experience while working in administration and recreation at a long-term care facility. She enjoys how refreshing it is to have a close-knit community to belong in such as Visual-Eyes and having so many co-workers that are willing to help and easy to talk to.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy reading and spending time with my family. In the winter I’ll ski when I can, and in the summer, I love to go camping!

“Where would be your favourite place to live and why?”
I would live on a farm, somewhere close to the mountains to go hiking whenever I want with a lake in the backyard to float on. If nothing else, I would just want to be away from the rush of city life.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
I would love to work with seniors again! I had a lot of fun working in long-term care while I was in school and made connections with some of the residents that I will never forget.

Toni-Lynn joined Visual-Eyes to further build on a strong foundation in medical administration and support. She completed the Medical Office Assistant – Health Unit Coordinator program at the Academy of Learning and now contributes her skills to the Admin team. Previously, she worked as Executive Assistant to the CEO of a child welfare organization and as a Doctor’s Assistant for an Ophthalmologist. Her favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the warm and inviting atmosphere, the amazing team that has been built, and, of course, the snacks.

We Asked Toni-Lynn…

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy staying active through the gym, whether its a ‘grooling’ cardio session or heavy weight lifting. I’m also a huge bookworm.

“What inspires you?”
I’m inspired by acts of kindness, words of affirmation and curiosity.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
Yellow – I feel like I try to find the positive in any situation, I am always looking for the bright side!

Jackie joined Visual-Eyes in August 2026 and brings more than ten years of administrative experience to the Admin and Marketing team. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Red Deer Polytechnic and has recently shifted her focus toward marketing and content creation. Jackie’s most recent accomplishment is graduating from RDP with her degree. Her favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the unique workplace environment, entertaining sense of humour, and the opportunity to work on something different while continually learning.

“What do you do in your free time?”
During the summer, I play softball almost every week day and week end. During the winter, I like snowboarding and skating. But sometimes I also love to just curl up with a good book.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I’d buy a fully loaded sailboat, stocked up with 6 months of supplies to live off-grid, and sail around the world.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I’ve spent twelve days on a sailboat on the open ocean, hundreds of kms away from anything and anyone. It was one of the most terrifying, yet incredible experiences of my life.

John is always striving to find the best ways to implement new features, which in turn facilitates a better service for new and existing clients. He has been with the organization since 2004 and has worked through many facets of the company including Technical Support, Training, Software Development, and Management.

John handles Project Management and is the lead Developer on the current version of Visual-Eyes, utilizing skills from his B. Tech in Computer Sciences. In his role, he takes pride in his ability to make people’s daily lives at work easier. He continues to seek growth both in the products we develop, and in his own personal career. John has graduated from the Dale Carnegie Effective Communication Human Relations/Skills for Success Course, as well as the Dale Carnegie Leadership Training for Managers Course. Most recently, he has also completed his Scrum Master Certification.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I spend time with my family, looking into cancer research, learning about evolutionary studies, writing music, and playing video games.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I am fairly good with Nun Chucks!

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would invest it and build a personal research lab/office.

Cam joined the Visual-Eyes family, for the most part, fresh out of school with a Bachelor of Science specializing in Computer Science from the University of Alberta. After a short stint as a freelance web developer, he began working at Visual-Eyes and has been here since 2009. He is a self-proclaimed “nerdy web guy”, but around here that only means he fits in perfectly. He started as a Technical Support Agent with the expectation of becoming a Software Developer.

I would buy enough musical instruments to fill an entire orchestra!

“Where would be your favorite place to live?”
On top of a mountain as long as I could get high speed internet.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I can solve a 12-sided Rubik’s cube.

Prior to Visual-Eyes, Christopher worked as an Independent App and Web Developer using his knowledge that was all self taught! He then joined our team in October 2019 with the Software Development department. He has found that the best part of working at Visual-Eyes is the friendly staff and being able to build software that helps our clients.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I like reading, writing music, programming, and gaming.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I take part in handbell ensemble ringing.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
Glow in the dark blue because phosphorescence is fun!

Joban offers exceptional knowledge and proficiency in his field with a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. Prior to Visual-Eyes, he also gained experience through roles as an IT Support Intern and Software Developer, making him a valuable asset to our team. Joban appreciates the supportive and helpful atmosphere fostered by his coworkers, contributing to a positive work environment.

I compete in Powerlifting, hit the gym regularly, and enjoy playing sports.

“What inspires you?”
I am inspired by people that are better than me. Their achievements motivate me to become a better version of myself.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy an expensive car and invest the rest.

Logan joined Visual-Eyes in December 2025 after completing his Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Computer Science from the University of Alberta in April 2025. He now works on the App Development team and enjoys seeing how even the smallest bugs he resolves can have a positive impact for Visual-Eyes and its users.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I typically play online games with friends or go on hikes with friends in the spring and summer.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would pay off all my student loans and buy a fancy car, whatever’s leftover can be donated to an animal rescue.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes what would you be doing?”
I think working as a paleontologist would be cool because dinosaurs are awesome.

Richard joined Visual-Eyes in February 2026 as part of the Application Development team. With 15 years of construction contracting experience, 4 years in oilfield transport and heavy hauling, and a year-long internship as a junior full stack developer, he brings a diverse and hands-on background to his role. He has completed a Data Warehousing and AI course at ERP College and is excited to grow his skills and experience in software development with the team.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I’m currently developing my own game engine and I enjoy working on vehicles mechanically.

“What inspires you?”
Personal growth and always learning new things

“Where would be your favorite place to live and why?”
Iceland, because it is where my family came from.

John joined Visual-Eyes in March 2026 and brings a diverse background to the Application Development team. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Alberta and a Diploma in Computer Software Development from NAIT, and recently obtained his Microsoft Azure Fundamentals Certificate. Before transitioning fully into software development, John ran his own renovation business and worked as a realtor in Edmonton, building strong skills in client communication, project management, and problem solving. His favourite part about Visual-Eyes is working on real-world systems that directly impact customers as part of a collaborative, continuously improving team.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy staying active with pickleball, badminton, and occasional hiking. I also like working on personal software projects and exploring new technologies.

“What inspires you?”
I’m inspired by building tools that solve real problems and make people’s work more efficient, especially when technology can simplify complex processes.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
I would likely build my own software products or work on tech projects that combine AI with practical everyday use cases.

Areeba joined Visual-Eyes in March 2026 and contributes her technical expertise to the Application Development team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Alberta and previously completed an internship at a med-tech company that develops software to treat eye diseases. Areeba is an inventor on a patent for software that detects, tracks, and images floaters within the eye. Her favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the people, who are very fun to work with.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I’m an artist! I sell acrylic paintings every year at art walks and festivals.

“What inspires you?”
Whenever someone I know tells me about a problem, and going ‘I wonder if I can make something to fix that?’

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I’m learning braille! Mainly to make software for teaching/translating it.

Kaden joined Visual-Eyes in August 2026 and brings a background in computer programming and freelance development to the Core Application Development team. He holds a Diploma in Computer Programming from Red Deer Polytechnic and has worked on freelance projects, including websites for companies and a friend’s wedding. Before transitioning into software development, Kaden worked in the service industry as a bartender and barback, as well as a white-water rafting guide on the Red Deer River. His favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the helpful, patient, and calm support he receives from his coworkers while learning the system and refining his skills.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I love learning about history and science, playing video games, and going out with my girlfriend.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
The boring realistic answer is a normal house. The fun answer is an apartment in the Netherlands, Canada, and somewhere tropical, with some leftover funds for travel!

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I’m still trying to build up my skills; I’m not sure if I have really mastered anything, but if I had to pick one it would probably be switching from deep-diving in code with co-workers to deep-diving in sports with my family, to deep-diving in history with my buddies.

Sergio joined Visual-Eyes in August 2026 and brings extensive software development experience from roles across Brazil and Canada. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Project Management and Mobile Application Development. Sergio began at Visual-Eyes as a Tier 2 Developer, supporting development and planning. He recently completed IBM’s Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals certification, and his favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the strong teamwork and camaraderie.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to and why?”
Two favorite places: Driving down the Green Line Highway (BR-099) during the day and at night – a forest and dunes on your left side when driving northbound, and only beaches and coconut trees on your right side. At night, I’ve never seen a sky so full of stars as much as there before.

Playing with my young kid, exploring Sylvan Lake and Red Deer County.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I run 5 km every weekday.

Toss joined the Visual-Eyes team in June of 2017. He joined us after completing his Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Calgary, and working in a warehouse at the Calgary International Airport. Thomas was hired into the Web Development department and continues to thrive there today. He enjoys having the opportunity to help build solutions to complex problems on a daily basis.

The satisfaction of a job well done!

Eli joined Visual-Eyes in August 2018 as part of the Web Development team. After completing his Bachelor of Science with a Computer Science Major from the University of Calgary, Eli was excited to leave his previous work at grocery shops behind, and join a fun and professional work environment. Eli’s favourite part of working at Visual-Eyes is that the staff keep every day fun and interesting!

When I have free time, I enjoy playing video games, listening to audio books, and taking extra-long naps!

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
Most people do not know that I am actually pretty good at renovating houses.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
If I had one million dollars to spend, I would pay off all of my debt and buy a house in Kelowna.

Kirsten joined the Web Development team at Visual-Eyes in September 2020. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computing Science from the University of Alberta and in the past, she has worked in retail, restaurants, and as a Software Developer intern. Her favourite thing about working for Visual-Eyes is that there is lots to learn, and that everyone is friendly and helpful.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I like to sleep, read fantasy books, or draw in my down time.

“Where would be your favourite place to live?”
Somewhere warm, but not too warm.

“What is your favourite place that you have travelled to?”
I haven’t travelled very much, but I think that Vancouver is nice; it has great food!

Robbie came on board the Visual-Eyes team in March 2022, with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Calgary. Before joining our team, Robbie already had a fair share of developing web applications such as a library management system, social media, and even a web version of a board game! He is able to use the skills he acquired through his past web projects to help improve and maintain the web component of Visual-Eyes including Visual Book, Visual Care, and Visual Forms.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I love spending time with family, playing all sorts of video games, and going to watch movies in the theatres.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
A house, a car for me, a car for my wife, a gaming pc, and I would probably buy a bunch of gifts for friends and family with whatever is left.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I am not sure if it is a skill or a talent, but I have a lazy eye! This just means my eye spends a lot of time disobeying me and drifting to the left.

Mark has over 15 years’ experience working with Visual-Eyes products. He currently leads the Quality Assurance team and helps organize and execute the development cycle. Mark is continuously looking for ways to simplify end user experiences and ensure our products are defect free. His team continuously tests all development completed and are not afraid to make the developers redo their work so that the end users can have a better experience.

I spend my time raising my two daughters, and enjoy camping, fishing, and playing board games.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
I would take some additional schooling in areas such as database administration and graphic design.

Matthew began at Visual-Eyes in July 2021 after completing his Bachelor of Science majoring in Computer Science at the University of Alberta. Matthew creates, runs, and maintains automated stress tests to ensure ongoing proper functionality of Visual Care. His diverse role at Visual-Eyes is the reason why he finds that the best part of his job is the learning experience that comes with new challenges every day.

Rock climbing and playing video games.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy a house, a hilariously over the top gaming setup, and then spend the rest on my friends’ Amazon wish lists.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
Hanging out and playing video games with my friends.

Mashiad holds a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Computer Science from the University of Alberta, where he achieved the highest level of academic excellence, earning a Distinction. Prior to joining the Visual-Eyes team, he also honed his skills as a Software Developer Intern where he spearheaded the design, development, and launch of a cutting-edge database system in the Medical & Legal Services sector. This project involved streamlining processes and optimizing system performance, provided customized database solutions, and adeptly addressed issues to elevate the overall user experience.

Mashiad’s favourite aspect of Visual-Eyes is the supportive environment and how the team prioritizes collaboration, innovation, and the well-being of its members. The inclusive atmosphere empowers him to wholeheartedly align with Visual-Eyes’ mission and actively contribute to its ongoing success.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy dedicating myself to the pursuit of knowledge and skill development. Whether it’s exploring new subjects, mastering existing ones, or staying update-to-date with the latest advancements, I find great satisfaction in the process of continuous learning and skill refinement.

“What inspires you?”
What truly inspires me is the impact that my work can have on people’s lives. Through my experiences, I’ve learned the importance of understanding different perspectives and collaborating effectively, even across differences, to achieve shared goals and objectives. Knowing that my efforts can make a positive difference in the lives of others is what drives and motivates me.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy a big house with a scenic view: a picturesque setting where my family and I could create lasting memories.

Vaibhav brought lots of experience to the Visual-Eyes QA department including a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science and two Post-Graduate Certificates in Project Management and International Business Management. Vaibhav has a rich background in QA, having worked at Elite, Aristocrat, Crestech, Signity, and TechMahindra. His inspiration comes from the ever-evolving challenges in the QA field.

“What do you do in your free time?”
Read a book, walk, hike, play table tennis, badminton, workout, and talk with family back home.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spent it in one day, what would you buy?”
Buy a Mustang GT, a Corvette Stingray, a Challenger Hellcat, and buy a water-facing condo in Calgary/Toronto.

“Where would be your favorite place to live and why?”
Somewhere in the mountains (Himalayas or the Rockies) with a good WiFi connection. Ideally Kasol in Himachal Pradesh, India or Canmore, Alberta, so that I can work remotely and enjoy the landscape at the same time.

Natalie joined Visual-Eyes in January 2026 and brings an extensive scientific background to the Quality Assurance team. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Science from the University of Calgary, with a focus in nanotechnology and spectroscopy. Prior to joining Visual-Eyes, Natalie spent five years as a freelance Chemistry reviewer, honing her analytical skills and attention to detail. Her favourite part about Visual-Eyes so far is the positive, collaborative workplace culture that supports learning, growth, and teamwork.

“What inspires you?”
I have a deep passion for learning and enjoy putting that knowledge to work in ways that make a difference. I strive to give my daughters the tools to flourish and experience life fully.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
A bunch of houses so I could live closer to my parents, sister and close friends.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I have the impressive ability to always pick the slowest working gas pump, especially in the Winter.

Tyler joined Visual-Eyes in April 2026 and brings a strong interdisciplinary background to the Quality Assurance team. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Information Systems, which he completed in May 2025. Prior to joining Visual-Eyes, Tyler worked in various roles across Alberta hospitals, most recently as a Behaviorist, where he analyzed and modified behavior for people with disabilities and dementia. So far, his favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the supportive working environment and how helpful everyone has been with all there is to learn.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy stocks.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to and why?”
I haven’t traveled much, but I enjoyed my trip to New Zealand. Not only is it absolutely beautiful, but I also like the climate.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
I would pick a blue/purple mix, like Indigo. Purple because I feel creative and imaginative; blue because I feel calm and thoughtful.

Rohit joined Visual-Eyes in August 2026, bringing over twenty-five years of distinguished expertise spanning full-cycle application development, software project management, and database instruction. Starting 1993, his robust academic foundation features three master’s degrees—a Master of Philosophy in Computer Science, a Master of Computer Applications, and a Master of Science in Information Technology—supplemented by an Advanced Diploma in Web Technologies & System Analysis and Design and a Dale Carnegie certificate. Throughout his career, he has successfully contributed to a variety of technical, instructional, project management and quality assurance roles across software development and higher education institutions in Canada. His professional toolkit is further enriched by advanced experience in predictive analytics and artificial intelligence, alongside his recent achievement of the Certified SAFe 6 Scrum Master credential. What he values most about Visual-Eyes is the opportunity to drive next level core software enhancements and bug resolution within a collaborative team environment.

“What do you do in your free time?”
Exploring database architectures, working on software side-projects, and keeping up to date with modern programming trends, listening to podcasts and diving into high-tech artificial intelligence applications and cars.

“What inspires you?”
Solving complex software engineering problems and building streamlined, efficient software solutions that make a real difference and community service.

“If you were not working at Visual-Eyes, what would you be doing?”
Teaching advanced computer science courses, predictive analytics, AI or mentoring up-and-coming software developers.

Chase joined Visual-Eyes in September 2026 and brings a technical background to the Quality Assurance team. He holds a Computer Programming Diploma from Red Deer Polytechnic and recently built and set up a home server. Before joining Visual-Eyes, Chase worked as a shop labourer and welder in railcar repair. His favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the welcoming atmosphere and well-stocked kitchen.

B.C. I’d love to be closer to my sister, enjoy warmer winters and the rain, and be near the mountains.

Maurice started work with the Technical Support department in March 2019 as the Technical Support Supervisor. He came to the Visual-Eyes team as an Innisfail High School graduate with over 10 years of experience as a supervisor. For Maurice, one of the highlights of working at Visual-Eyes is the friendly people he gets to work with.

We asked Maurice…

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy playing video games, watching anime and YouTube, and playing board games.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
I would be blue. It is very generic, but you are always glad you have it when you need it.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy a new house, new car, and a vacation package to Florida.

Before joining the Visual-Eyes team, Robert worked for 7 years in various retail customer service and inventory management roles. He was referred to us by one of our previous Technical Support Agents and we are very happy to have him aboard. He is a very dedicated team member and enjoys being able to help many of our clients.

Robert fits right in with the rest of our “techies” since he started with us in 2013. He has one cat that he refers to as a “hairy plant” and lives by the advice of: don’t stick your finger in your eye. He takes his coffee black and will never be seen without pants (he doesn’t believe in shorts).

“What do you do in your free time?”
I build model kits and play video games.

I would buy a house and invest the rest.

“Where would be your favorite place to live?”

Travis has been working as a Technical Support Agent since June 2016. He has completed an MCSE from Medicine Hat College. Before joining the Visual-Eyes team, Travis spent several years as a computer technician and working in IT departments. He is eager to help clients and appreciates his co-workers for their helpfulness and knowledge.

“What do you do in your free time?”
I read, play computer games/board games/trivia games/card games, and watch TV/movies.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
A much nicer house with nicer furnishings, possibly in a city where they don’t get snow. And a Toyger.

“Where would be your favorite place to live?”
Somewhere in southern Europe, for the weather, food, and culture.

Stephen joined Visual-Eyes in October 2018 in the Technical Support department. He came to the Visual-Eyes team with over a decade of related experience working as tech support for various cable and ISP companies. He also has a Diploma in Computer Engineering Technology and a certificate in Precision Machinery from Holland College. Stephen has enjoyed the move to Visual-Eyes as there is a good work atmosphere, friendly people, and awesome dogs!

We asked Stephen…

“What is your favourite place that you have travelled to?”
It would be a 3-way tie between the Muskoka area in Ontario (and all the back roads around it), the Rockies, and PEI which I still think of as home.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it all in one day, what would you buy?”
I would buy a house, probably start my motorcycle collection, and look into getting my pilots license. Or I could just blow it all on Lego.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
I would be that marker ink cartridge some joker shoved in with the crayons, so when you picked it up you would get ink all over your hands and go “Oh Man! Why Me?”

Before coming to Visual-Eyes, Matt had previous experience in IT at Bulletproof, Red Deer College, and Quinn’s Oilfield Supply. He became a part of Visual-Eyes in November 2019, joining us as a Technical Support Agent. Matt has studied Computer Systems Technology at Red Deer College focusing on the networking and programming streams. The best parts about working at Visual-Eyes for Matt is: there is lots to learn, his coworkers are enthusiastic about improving their knowledge, and the cleverly designed system feels good to represent.

We asked Matt…

“What do you do in your free time?”
I like to read, learn about things online, study languages, and chat online.

“What inspires you?”
It’s always exciting to learn more. It feels great to help people!

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
Speaking a decent amount of Japanese (I moved from studying Japanese at a N4 level to a N3 level), reading Hangul and Cyrillic phonetically, and knowing a tiny bit of tourist Korean and Cantonese. I am also taking French, German, and Russian in Duolingo.

Before coming to Visual-Eyes, Sean started in phone/tablet hardware repair in 2011 when the iPhone 4 was first taking off, then transitioned to Geek Squad to further expand his IT knowledge. He became a part of Visual-Eyes in September 2022, joining us as a Product Support Agent. The best part of Visual-Eyes according to Sean is the open communication between any department in the office. If you have any issue you cannot answer, you are always just a message away from someone who can help. No matter the size of the task, there is always someone who is willing to take time to lend a hand.

“What inspires you?”
Kindness. Very few people have the capacity for kindness in our crazy world nowadays, and taking the time to be kind to someone with no rewards is a very rare occurrence.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I moonlight as a drummer in a touring band, with over 12 years of live performance experience, 5 cross-country tours and over 480 shows played. I have taken a step back since the birth of my daughter, but it is still going strong.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
I would most likely be brown. It is the least used out of all crayons, and as someone who enjoys solitude that resonates with me.

Before joining our team, Brian pursued various career paths, including working as a truck driver and holding several customer service-oriented positions. His diverse background has equipped him with effective communication strategies and valuable insights into client needs. Since joining our company, Brian’s favorite aspect has been the warm and welcoming atmosphere fostered by his colleagues. He appreciates the friendly and approachable nature of the staff, as well as their shared enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in their work.

“What inspires you?”
I am inspired by my family. I always try to ensure that they are taken care of and I work hard to ensure that my entire family is comfortable and safe.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
If I had a million dollars, I would pay off all of my existing debt and then use the rest of the money to buy a new vehicle, and probably a really expensive dog house for my two dogs.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to and why?”
My favourite place that I have travelled to is Vietnam. I took the trip a few years ago and there were so many beautiful sites to visit and the food was amazing.

Shea joined Visual-Eyes in April 2026 and brings a strong technical background to the Product Support team. He holds a Bachelor of Computer Science from the University of Victoria and an Associate of Science from Okanagan College. Prior to joining Visual-Eyes, Shea worked as a Parts Specialist at Nissan and in IT at a jewelry store. He has been learning React in his free time and recently completed his own website. His favourite part about Visual-Eyes is how robust and comprehensive the software is, which has made learning it both engaging and fascinating.

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to and why?”
Germany, because it has the Nurburgring.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I make electronic music, DJ, fix cars, and rank in the top 10% on competitive iRacing.

“What colour crayon would you be and why?”
Green, because it is a relaxing, nature type colour.

Nicole started in March 2017 with the Visual-Eyes Sales and Training team. Previously, she had completed her Bachelor of Commerce, with a Major in Marketing. She then worked abroad and once back home, worked in various industries as a tenant coordinator and an aquatic supervisor. One of her favourite parts of working as a Practice Consultant is that she gets to know amazing clients when she travels to the different clinics. She appreciates that the staff here are all great and genuinely enjoy helping others.

We asked Nicole…

“What do you do in your free time?”
I enjoy spending time with family. I have wonderful nieces and nephews that always put a smile on my face. I also love the outdoors and going to the mountains. You can generally find me snowboarding in the winter and hiking in the summer.

“What skills or talents do you have that most people do not know about?”
I am an amateur beekeeper. I don’t know if I would call it a skill yet, but I have gotten pretty good at eating the honey!

“What is your favorite place that you have travelled to?”
I am lucky to have been to a lot of amazing places. Kuta Lombok, Indonesia is great. It has an amazing landscape.

Erik joined the Visual-Eyes team in August of 2022 as a Product Support Agent and recently joined the Practice Consulting team this year. Before that, Erik worked in retail computer sales and tech support. One of Erik’s most recent accomplishments is that he joined the Board of Directors for Youth HQ in Red Deer. When asked what Erik liked most about working at Visual-Eyes he said, “Working in the room with agents troubleshooting issues together. It is amazing to see everyone asking each other questions on how to solve problems, no matter how tenured they are.”

“What do you do in your free time?”
I like to play and coach lacrosse, spend time with friends and family, as well as relax watching a show.

“If you had 1 million dollars but had to spend it in one day, what would you buy?”
If I had 1 million dollars, I would probably use it for adventure capital. I think there are some really cool ideas out there that I would love to see made.

“Where would be your favourite place to live and why?”
I do not think I would ever move away from Alberta. All my family is here and that is the most important part to me.

Des joined Visual-Eyes in May 2026 and brings almost six years of hands-on optometry clinic experience to the Sales and Training team. His background includes extensive work in pretesting and contact lenses, along with experience in reception, scribing, gallery, and lab. He completed a Diploma of Optical Sciences – Eyeglasses from NAIT in 2025. His favourite part about Visual-Eyes is the warm and inviting team, and the strong desire across the company to learn and help out.

Italy, it was beautiful, the food was amazing and it was really cool to see the cities and buildings that have been around for such a long time

Tonks joined the Visual-Eyes team in November of 2020 and has peacefully co-existed in the office environment where she can spend her time cuddled up at her person’s (Anne Chong) feet. Tonks is definitely quite a talker with a seemingly endless source of energy, so her favourite thing to do outside the office is to make her rounds throughout her yard and make sure everything is as it should be.

Charlie joined the Visual-Eyes team in August 2026 and has fully embraced his position as an office, spending most of his days right where he belongs: at his person’s (Jackie) side. If Jackie is going somewhere, Charlie is going somewhere, and when the plan is to stay put, he settles in and reaches what can only be described as REM sleep for approximately 90 per cent of the day. His loves anything with cheese, and his favourite pastime is chasing balls. He brings tremendous enthusiasm to every chase, though catching the ball itself remains an ongoing project.

“What is your favorite part of Visual-Eyes?”
Daily treats and pets from co-workers. Its also much more fun to come to work than to stay at home by myself everyday.
