If you are new to Visual-Eyes, one of the first things we ask you to do is enter a patient named Eyelene Eyes into your current system. Clinics sometimes ask us who she is. Here is her story.
Who is Eyelene Eyes?
Eyelene Eyes is the official mascot of Visual-Eyes. She grew out of our logo: the eye brought to life as a character, with a round blue body, long lashes and a friendly wave.
And yes, her name is a pun. Eyelene is Eileen, with an eye.
How She Got Her Start
Eyelene made her debut in 2018 as the guide in our first animated explainer video. She led viewers through the patient journey in a Visual-Eyes clinic, from reception to an eye exam and ending with dispensing.
Our Sample Patient
In 2019, Eyelene became the sample patient for Visual-Eyes documentation. Today, she appears in examples where we need a clearly fictional patient, including:
- Sample data used when converting a new clinic to Visual-Eyes
- Screenshots in our user guides and marketing material
- Test text messages and emails
- Test bookings and forms
Eyelene has a whole family tree that we use as test patients. They help us show examples involving multiple patients without using real patient information.
Why She Matters to Your Clinic
Using a consistent sample patient helps keep real patient information out of testing and training. When you see Eyelene in a message, on a screen or in a guide, you know you are looking at an official Visual-Eyes example.
The next time her name appears in a test message, say hello. To see Visual-Eyes in action, book a demonstration with our team.
